Wellington Speedway Prizegiving
The Wellington Speedway Prizegiving was held on June 12th. After a fantastic first season James and the Hadley Motorsport team walked away with 3 awards. These were: Best Presented Minisprint, 1st Club Night Points, 2nd Top Points Scorer Overall. The team are all very pleased with these awards and this is a huge achievement in just our first full season in Speedway. We now look forward to our second season in the Minisprint class at Te Marua Speedway. Keep checking back for more news during the off-season!
James Hadley to drive Saloon
This weekend at Wellington’s biggest meeting of the year, the 2010 ANZAC Challenge, James Hadley will drive the Chris Hadley owned 13W Saloon. Spread across 2 nights, James will race a total of six heats. The opportunity to drive in another class is an amazing one. Racing at Te Marua Speedway starts at 6:30pm Friday 23rd and 6:00pm Saturday 24th April. James would just like to thank Chris Hadley for the opportunity to run in the Saloon for the first time, and also thank all of his sponsors for their ongoing support.

Winged Thunder 3 & Wellington Club Night
Winged Thunder 3 was Hadley Motorsport’s first time racing on the Ohakea track and the team left with mixed emotions. After a fantastic first race moving through from 15th to 9th, the next two races were not very flash. James strugled to get to grips with the very slick track and unfortunatly didn’t finish the final. A bad day at the office and one to forget.
April 17th saw the return to Te Marua Speedway. With 12 cars turning up, the growth of the class in Wellington is huge. After a fantastic start to the first race, holding 3rd place, the engine started to smoke and James was forced to the infield. Hadley Motorsport tried to run the next race but was yet again forced to pull off. Another frustrating meeting for HMS.
Due to the amount of engine damage, Hadley Motorsport will be unable to return to Minisprint racing this season.

Hadley Motorsport Back In Action
Hadley Motorsport returned to racing this past Saturday 20th March at the 2010 Tommy’s Real Estate Wellington Minisprint Championship. After 3 weeks off and all the engine problems sorted, James was ready to go racing. An impressive 16 car field turned up to race, unfortunately one car was unable to get onto the track, making it 15 cars.
Heat 1: James Hadley started off grid 10 and straight away moved through the pack. Using the high line, James made his way up to around 4th within the first lap. Unfortunately a car spun right in front of James in turn 4 and trapped him for a few seconds. After slowing the car right down and making little contact, James was back on his way but down to about 8th. The car ran well and James was able to pass a few more cars to finish 6th.
Heat 2: Starting off grid 3, James held his position for the first few laps. James managed to make a pass for 2nd and was chasing down the leader. Trying to go for the lead allowed another car into the mix, meaning James and 3rd place were running side by side. This stayed the same for the next 5 laps with some fantastic racing being showed by both drivers. With just over 1 lap to go, the lower car ran the pole line and washed up into James’ #11 . After a small flight in the air, James was back on all four wheels heading to the wall. He managed to slow the car and only just scrap the wall. This meant James dropped down to forth at the finish, however the other driver was later penalised moving Hadley into 3rd.
Heat 3: Hadley Motorsport started on grid 9. James immediatley moved through to 6th. With the track slicking off, James was looking to find a pass on 5th. The only way around was going to be the long way around. James managed to pull up next to the car multiple times but couldnt quite get infront. After the race back in the pits, the team spotted that the left rear had a puncture and was completely flat.
Overall result: 5th place. Just 1 point behind 2nd place and 4 behind the winner. James Hadley and Hadley Motorsport would like to thank all the team at Macbilt Engineering for their work over the past few weeks. Also, BNT Automotive, Fuchs Oils, CRC, Ultra Batteries, Jonnesway Tools, Pace Couriers, Suspension Devlopments and SlotMedia for their ongoing support.

HMS Down But Not Out!
Unfortunately due to engine problems, Hadley Motorsport was unable to attend the 2010 North Island Minisprint Champs last weekend. With the amount of engine issues this season it makes it hard to know whether or not HMS will return this season. However, the team is pushing hard to get back on track for the Wellington Minisprint Champs on March 20th and hopefully be able to continue for the rest of the season. On top of this, there may be more news to come with the possibility of James Hadley debuting in a second class this season!
Keep checking online for more Hadley Motorsport updates as more decisions are made.
Unlucky End Last Saturday
After three weeks off racing Hadley Motorsport arrived at Te Marua Speedway very eager to get on the track. With some huge work being done during the last few weeks, the overheating problem was finally fixed and we were ready to get some real testing done before the North Island Championship next week. First race and Hadley Motorsport started off grid 7. The track was very wet as Minisprints were first up on the programme which made things a little harder. James had a strong race and made his way up to 3rd place by the finish to record his 8th podium in a row. Heat two saw us starting near the front on grid three. After a quick start James held his position throughout the first half of the race. Unfortunately a late pass put James down to forth at the finish. Hadley Motorsport was happy with these first two results but the bad news was about to come. After taking off the bonnet it was obvious there was a problem. Oil was gushing out of the breather in the head and things didn’t look good. There were no signs of engine problems on the track with the oil pressure staying fine and no alarming lights flashing on the dashboard. After starting the car up in the pits Hadley Motorsport decided it just wasn’t worth the risk to continue. The engine was out of the car by Sunday and will go off to be looked at. With all the engine problems this year, this may just bring an early end to the season. Not a good night just a week before the BNT Automotive #11 was set for it’s debut North Island Championship.
